About

Hi! My name's Rachelle and I am a teacher of all things. My official title is special education teacher, more specifically a teacher of student's with significant disabilities and health needs. I found myself in the field of special education as an accident. I was hired as a long term sub in my district's cross categorical unit and I fell in love. Although I was young and in-experienced as a teacher in general (let alone a special education teacher) I felt at home. That's how I knew that I was put in that place and time for a reason-- to find my passion. Long story short, I went back and got my Master's degree in special education with a concentration on pervasive developmental disorders.

Currently, I have been teaching for ten years. Two of those years have been in my district's multiple disabilities unit teaching students who suffer from significant disabilities and health needs. When I first began in this unit, it was a huge jump from what I was teaching before. I was lost. I had no idea what to do. So, I did what any good teacher would and researched! A few months in, I found my way and realized that I needed to share my ideas. I thought about teacher's that may have been in my position and so I started sharing. I also started creating my own resources because I couldn't find anything to fit my student's needs. All of my resources are differentiated and tailored to meet the needs of varying abilities in the classroom!

If you are in the mental mind frame I was a few years ago, welcome! I hope we can learn from each other and I hope that you find something you need here.
